How to find Goit Stock Waterfall
This hidden little gem of a Waterfall is not miles away in the Yorkshire Dales but here in West Yorkshire, Harden near Bingley, Bradford to be exact.
This magnificent Waterfall (and the woodland area around it), can have a totally different look when you visit at different times of the year in changing light and changing seasons so it's well worth visiting more than once.....
The pictured large Waterfall isn't the only one here but is the most stunning. Not long after you start you're walk there is a smaller waterfall on your left and when you reach the main Waterfall, if you feel like struggling up the poor access to the top of the main waterfall, there are a couple more small waterfall above to see as well. There are lots of birds here at different times of year like the red breasted Robin, if you can spot them, and also some other wildlife here too like rabbits, and you may even spot the odd Deer (they are here) if you're really lucky. It's not a place you're going spend all day at but if you're looking to go out for a quiet pleasant stroll, need somewhere for the kids to explore or to take the dog for a walk, you're probably going to be an hour or two walking up to here and back to the car at a steady pace taking in the surrounding. When you reach the main Goit Stock Waterfall the footpath does continue onwards if you want to carry on your walk but it is a less well used route and can be a bit harder to navigate in parts. Also keep in mind that the large waterfall is the main focus point on the route. Most people return the same way after reaching the waterfall. Facilities...
There aren't any basically.
There are NO toilets, shop, ice cream van or anything else here so bring your own drinks and food if you might want a snack. And there isn't really anywhere ideal for a picnic either, although you can sit on the large rocks at the waterfall. I know, now I'm really selling it to you :) This isn't a National Trust site or an official tourist attraction, its just a public right of way. But there are shops nearby and a pub/restaurant at the start so all is not lost.
Parking...
Parking is roadside but there is lots of it and it's free and it's on a very wide road so you shouldn't worry too much about your vehicle whether its big motorhome or a small car you arrive in.
Please do NOT try to drive your vehicle closer to the waterfall up the PRIVATE lane, there is NO Parking Available for you closer to the waterfall and after all, you're out for a nice walk.
How to Find It...
I've finally got to the important part... Where is it ?
If travelling by public transport try using this website for your route>>> For the Sat Nav use - BD16 1JQ it will show Wilsden Road or Wilsden Old Road (no2) at Harden. This will take you very close to where you need to park your vehicle on Wilsden Road. If you drive from Bradford you will you will come down a bendy hill and go over a narrow bridge with The Malt Shovel pub on your right, just after here there is a marked parking area at the rod side, park your vehicle here. Walk back down towards the narrow bridge and on your right just before it there is a little lane (between houses and garages) called Goit Stock Lane, this is the start of your walk. Watching for cars, walk up the lane with the stream (and garages) on your left, after a little while of you walking up the tarmac lane you leave the houses behind and enter a more wooded area. Keep going and you will eventually reach a Static Home Park, keep walking straight on. When you come to the mobile home directly in your path you then need to veer left in between it and a house. You then enter another wooded area but this time it's just a dirt pathway, follow that path and you eventually arrive at the Main Waterfall as seen in the photographs above.
Please do NOT swim in the water around the waterfall.
There are dangerous under currents here with serious risk to life !!
Accessibility...
From the on road parking up to the Mobile Home Park it is tarmac with the exception of a cattle grid with a walk through access on rougher ground just after the houses end.
From the mobile home park up to the Waterfall it is a worn forest track with tree roots, rocks, mud (in wet weather) to navigate. It's fairly flat most of the way until you get closer to the waterfall then it requires a bit of scrambling up and down some large rocks and smallish muddy slopes. I advise you to wear some sturdy footwear as some parts can be slippery and a little challenging especially near and around the waterfall all year round.
And Finally....
Have fun, enjoy the walk, take photos, please be respectful to others and take your rubbish home.

You don't mention how you get there by bus. Not everyone has a car.
