A small, previously Industrial Market Town getting towards the edge of West Yorkshire just outside of Halifax is a great place to spend a few hours.... Relax, Do some Shopping, Eat and Drink and go for a walk and explore the local area. There's more to do and see here than you may realise... Where do I start.... Well there is a variety of Local Independent and Unique shops along with the small outdoor market which operates Thursday to Sunday with different trades each day like local food produce, arts & craft and second hand goods for you to visit and purchase gifts for yourself and friends. There are a number of local pubs and fantastic small independent restaurants with a variety of yummy foods including vegetarian to try, and as well places to drink inside, or outside in the better weather. Or why not get a pizza and a glass of wine and sit at the side of the river that runs through the town and watch the world go by.. And have I mentioned the local park, where you can sit and relax in the sun or play games with the kids. Do you Fancy a Walk.... you'll also find the Rochdale Canal here too. Take a stroll along the side of the canal and take in some of the beautiful countryside scenery and look at some of the quirky barges along the side of the canal where some of the local people live all year round. And through out the year there are also some special events like the Steam Punk Weekend where people dress up in some quite interesting costumes in and around the own and the annual Duck Race to mention just a couple.
